SDSU CIV E 532 — Intro to Coastal Engineering
Introductory knowledge of the coastal environment and the design of coastal engineering systems; oceanic/coastal elements constraining the design of engineering systems (e.g. offshore/nearshore waves, coastal morphology); relevant elements of coastal engineering design; fundamental engineering structures are calculated (e.g. piles, breakwaters). The course includes 2 design units, in the context of the Civil Engineering Program (students will learn about designing coastal structural elements).
