Overview
ClassCatalog is an independent SDSU class-planning aid. The public site does not require a student account, and ClassCatalog does not ask you for your SDSU password or student ID to use the class finder.
What we save in your browser
- Your selected major may be saved in a first-party cookie for up to one year.
- Your completed-course selections may be saved in a first-party cookie for up to one year.
- Your selected theme may be saved in a first-party cookie so it can be restored later.
- Your favorites are saved in local storage until you remove them or clear the site's browser data.
These preferences are browser-specific and are not synchronized to a public ClassCatalog account.
What is sent to ClassCatalog
Search terms and selected filters are sent to the ClassCatalog server so matching classes can be returned. When degree-planning features are used, the selected major, catalog year, and completed courses may also be included in those requests.
Favorites remain in local storage. When you view Favorites, class numbers may be sent to ClassCatalog to retrieve current class or seat information.
Analytics
ClassCatalog uses Google Analytics to understand how the site is used and to improve it. Depending on the browser and analytics configuration, analytics data may include pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser information, referral source, and site interactions.
Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies and is also governed by Google's own privacy practices.
Google Analytics is not loaded until you choose Accept analytics. You can reject optional analytics and change your choice later with Cookie settings in the footer.
Third-party data and links
Class information, meeting details, enrollment information, seat availability, and degree-catalog information come from SDSU public sources.
Professor ratings and related review signals come from cached Rate My Professors data. Community-submitted ratings can be incomplete, subjective, or outdated.
External sites have their own privacy policies and practices.
Your choices
You can remove ClassCatalog cookies and local-storage data using your browser's site-data controls. Doing so may reset your selected theme, major, completed-course list, and favorites.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when ClassCatalog's features, storage practices, analytics configuration, or third-party services change. The date at the top identifies the current version.
