SDSU JAPAN 312 — Third Year Japanese II

Further strengthening of communication skills in Japanese; various literary styles; introduction of chugaku kanji. Social and economic issues in Japan and the U.S.; cultural values shaping business conduct in Japan; characteristics of Japanese management; intercultural communication. Course uses language acquisition skills to help students understand cultural differences and develop a global perspective. Preparation for JAPAN 411. Taught in Japanese. No credit will be given for JAPAN 311, 312, JAPAN 411, JAPAN 412 taken out of sequence. No credit will be given for lower division courses taken after successfully completing any upper division Japanese course taught in Japanese. Native speakers of Japanese or students whose placement test results demonstrate educated native or near-native fluency will not receive credit for JAPAN 311, JAPAN 312, JAPAN 321, JAPAN 322, JAPAN 411, JAPAN 412, JAPAN 421, and JAPAN 422.
