SDSU KOR 101 — Elementary Korean I

Language skills to include reading, writing, listening, speaking Korean at elementary level. Basic sentence patterns, useful expressions, basic communication strategies, relationship between language and culture. Course uses language acquisition skills to help students understand cultural differences and develop a global perspective. Not open to students with credit in KOR 102, KOR 201, KOR 202, KOR 301, or a higher-numbered Korean course. Taught in Korean. This course is for true beginners. Students with previous exposure to Korean in school or at home should contact the Korean program advisor for a proficiency assessment. Native speakers of Korean will not receive credit for taking lower division courses except with advance approval from the department. No credit will be given for lower division courses taken after successfully completing any upper division Korean course taught in Korean. No credit will be given for KOR 101, KOR 102, KOR 201, KOR 202, KOR 301, and KOR 302 taken out of sequence
