Principles of programming using Matlab. Syntax topics to include arrays, control flow, data types, functions, and loops. Numerical methods to include curve fitting, Gauss reduction, interpolation, matrix operations, Newton-Raphson, numerical differentiation, and numerical integration. Application areas in mechanical engineering to include dynamic systems, finite element analysis, graphical user interfaces, and image analysis.
Course requirements
Prerequisites: MATH 151 with a grade of C (2.0) or better.
