SDSU MUSIC 409W — Research & Writing Musicians
Capstone seminar for music majors emphasizing advanced research and professional writing. Students navigate information resources, critically evaluate music, performances, and scholarship, and produce a formal research paper and presentation on an original topic. Fulfills the university¿s Graduate Writing Assessment Requirement (GWAR). Not open to students with credit in MUSIC 308DW and MUSIC 408DW. Satisfies the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement (GWAR) for students who get a minimum grade of C or Cr. Upper-division courses should only be taken by students who have completed 60 semester units or more. In exceptional cases, a student who has completed fewer than 60 units may enroll in upper division courses.
